Biology I

This course includes a study of living organisms and vital life processes. Fundamental concepts include the scientific method, chemical basis of life, cell structure and function, cell division, metabolism, classical and molecular genetics, and biotechnology. Course content is reinforced by a variety of laboratory experiments.

Biology II

Biology II builds on fundamental biological concepts. While exploring the biodiversity of life on Earth, we examine representative species through laboratory experiments and dissections of preserved specimens. Course content includes scientific skills, classification of organisms, scientific method, and examination of organisms' body systems.

Environmental Science

This course is designed to provide students with basic principles and unifying concepts of Environmental Science. Students will learn how humans have affected Earth's natural systems in the pursuit of sustaining our daily lives. We use scientific practices and tools needed to apply critical thought to contemporary environmental issues. Topics of emphasis include humans and sustainability, ecological principles, sustaining biodiversity, and natural resources.
